Kerry Group Rás Mumhan 2014 Official Launch

KERRY GROUP RAS MUMHAN 2014 was officially launched today. Starting in Killorglin on Good Friday 18th April, the 4 Day International Cycle race will include stages in Kenmare & Waterville over the Easter weekend and will finish back in Killorglin on Easter Monday.

Rory McGillycuddy,  Chairman of Killorglin Cycling Club, said: “Kerry Group’s sponsorship and support of the race has elevated the race to a new level in terms of organisation and competitiveness. In addition, the local economy gains significantly with over one thousand bed nights in the region over the Easter period.”  He added: “In advance of the Race, I would like to thank the Garda Siochána, Kerry County Council and Cork County Council for their help and advice in ensuring the safe and successful running of the event”.

Launching the Race, Mr. Frank Hayes, Director of Corporate Affairs with Kerry Group said: “The introduction of the new ‘teams only’ requirement for the Race has created huge interest in this premier event. With 200 riders taking part from all over Europe, spectators will be treated to the very best of cycling over the 4 days of a very tough and exciting race. Mr. Hayes continued: “Now firmly established as the top domestic stage race on the cycle racing calendar, the Kerry Group Rás Mumhan is a credit to the organising committee and all the volunteers who work tirelessly to put this race on the roads of Cork and Kerry”.
