Mark Dowling stamped his authority on stage two of the Kerry Group Ras Mumhan Saturday afternoon when he crossed the line ahead of Ryan Sherlock and Colin Parry on the Conor Pass outside Dingle.
The event over 126kms with a start in Dingle was a ding dong affair with breaks a constant pattern. Up to the start of the 11km climb it looked as though Adam Armstrong of Eurocycles and Sean Lacey of Dan Morrissey/Speedy-Spokes would survive to finsh one two. But the bunch led by DID/Dunboyne CC eroded their advantage midway up the tortous climb which was shrouded in mist and mistique.
As a result of his stage win, Mark the son of Mick Dowlingof boxing fame assumes the race leadership as the race entourage heads to Waterville today(Sunday) for the third stage over 142kms.
