The Aqua Blue Sport Cycling Ireland March Volunteer of the Year is our Race Secretary Mary Concannon.
Cycling Ireland introduced a new Monthly Award to recognise the achievements and commitment of those involved in the sport.
The winners of the three categories – Male / Female and Volunteer of the Month – go onto the list of nominees for the Annual Awards next November.
The citation nominating Mary says that “Mary (Killorglin CC Treasurer) along with her crew, put a tremendous amount of work into ensuring the smooth running of the Kerry Group Ras Mumhan which took place over the Easter weekend.
Mary was quick to point out that she is accepting the Award on behalf of a large group of volunteers who dedicate hours of work into making the race one of the most prestigious ones on the Cycling Ireland calendar.
“There are so many people involved in the race and I feel bad with so many others involve, from the Race Officials, to the marshals and everyone who played a part in making the race possible. I am accepting on behalf of all of these”
Coror will remember his visits to Kerry
The Male Rider of the Month is Conor Hennebry who won the Kerry Group Ras Mumhan and followed this up with a win in the Drumm Cup in Currow.
