One Less Volunteer This Year

One Less Volunteer This Year:
There are very few sporting events in this country that would go ahead without volunteers and cycling racing is a sport that depends on volunteers more than most.
And of course the ideal volunteer is one that just knows what needs to be done and goes ahead and does it.
Cycling in Kerry and Kerry Group Rás Mumhan in particular has lost one of these ideal volunteers this year with the passing of Nora Keane Moriarty.
Nora was involved in cycling for many years, enjoying many great days watching her son Eugene racing and helping out her husband Tadgh in his many roles within the sport.
Nora never wanted the limelight and many cyclist probably did not even know her by name but they will have eaten the treats she prepared before and after racing, seen the flags and banners she prepared that were used on many stages, especially when the big cycling events came to Listowel and benefited from the many other tasks she performed behind the scenes at sign on etc.
Nora was a valued member of the team behind the success of the Kerry Group Ras Mumhan, she will be missed but not forgotten as the 2018 race gets underway on Good Friday.
