The first major stage race of the 2013 Irish Cycle Season, the Kerry Group Rás Mumhan will again take place over the 4 days of Easter week-end from 29th March 2013 until the 1st April 2013. However, the 2013 Race will see some changes to the route details with Easter Saturday’s Stage 2 now starting and finishing in Kenmare. This 145km stage, which also takes in the Healy Pass, the biggest climb of the race, will mainly take place on the Beara Peninsula in Co. Cork which includes Castletownbere, Eyries, Lauragh, Adrigole and Glengarriffe.

The other 3 stages remain the same as 2012. Day 1 on Good Friday will start & finish in Killorglin and will take in Killarney, Kilcummin, Scartaglin, Castleisland & Milltown, a total of 100km. Easter Sunday’s 140km stage 3 will again take place in South Kerry, starting and finishing in Waterville and will also include a trip to Valentia Island. The final day which takes place on Easter Monday encompasses the traditional 3 laps of the Beaufort circuit, followed by 9 laps of the Killorglin town circuit, totaling 115km. With a total race distance of 500 km the 2013 Kerry Group Rás Mumhan will visit East, South and Mid Kerry and West Cork.
