The organisers of Kerry Group Rás Mumhan 2012 deeply regret the delay in the payment of prize money due to winners. The circumstances for the delay are unconnected to the organising society however; the race organisation is bound by Cycling Ireland and Irish Sports Council protocols.
It is standard procedure in cycling races where medical control is present not to issue the prize money until clearance is given by the Anti-Doping Officer of Cycling Ireland. Clearance to issue the payments for Kerry Group Rás Mumhan 2012 was not granted by Cycling Ireland, acting in accordance with its protocol for medical control and as agreed with the Irish Sports Council. Following the conclusion of proceedings arising from the medical control conducted after Stage 4 on 9th of April these matters are now resolved. Clearance has been give to release the payments in full in accordance with the list below.
The race organisation congratulates the winners and looks forward to seeing them defend their placing at Kerry Group Rás Mumhan 2013. Details of the 2013 routes will be posted on www.rasmumhan.ie in early December
