The roads of Kerry and  Cork  will  once again see  Kerry Group Rás Mumhan , the first major Stage Race of the Irish Cycle racing season take place over the 4 days of Easter weekend  from  April 18th to April 21st 2014.

Speaking about the race, Mr. Frank Hayes, Director of Corporate Affairs, Kerry Group, said: “Kerry Group is delighted to continue sponsorship of this premier cycling event. This is our sixth year as title sponsors and the success of this competition each year is testament to the hard work and dedication of the local cycling club in Killorglan along with all the clubs in Kerry and further afield.  He added: “Kerry Group Rás Mumhan is now recognised internationally as one of the top competitive stage races in Ireland & Britain.”

Technical Director Micheal Concannon said “Kerry Group is one of the top sporting sponsorship brands in the country and the fact that they are continuing their support of the event is a big statement that the race is continuing to go from strength to strength. Already, newly formed Irish Teams have expressed their intention to be on the line for the start on Good Friday to take on more established outfits from both home and abroad”

This year’s competition will see some rule changes applied – the race will be open to National, Provincial, County, Club & Composite teams, subject to conditions. Teams will now consist of 6 riders and no individual entries will be taken.
